No concrete shell. No molded shape.
Instead of a poured concrete shell or a factory shell, the basin is sculpted in the ground and sealed with a reinforced structural lining, then coated in natural quartz and polished pebble finishes. Because nothing is pre-formed, the shape, the depths, the benches and the beach are drawn around your yard.
Sculpted, not poured
The pool is modeled by hand in the excavation, so the finished shape follows your grade and your view.
Sand-style beach entry
Beach entry pools give you a gently sloping, zero entry walk-in shallow — the feature almost every family ends up using most.
Natural mineral finishes
Antibacterial quartz and polished pebble coatings in a range of colors, so the water reads like stone and light, not tile and plaster.
Clean, treated water
Normal circulation and filtration, with mineral or salt water treatment. This is a swimming pool, not a plant-filtered pond.
Wellness built in
Hydro seats, air geysers, submerged loungers and a defined swim lane can all be sculpted into the same basin.
Kinder to your yard
Less excavation, less backfill and less masonry than a gunite build, so there is far less landscape to repair afterward.
Regional Sand Sculpted Pool Installation
Sand Sculpted Pools are a specialized construction system, and qualified installers are not available in every market. For that reason, Blue Lagoon Pools travels beyond its normal local construction area for qualifying Sand Sculpted Pool projects.
The current Sand Sculpted Pool territory includes Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Ohio. Project availability depends upon the property, site access, engineering, local permitting requirements, project size, and construction schedule.
Projects outside our normal construction area may include a clearly disclosed project logistics allowance covering crew transportation, vehicle mileage, lodging, and necessary equipment mobilization. Future expansion is planned for North Carolina and South Carolina; those states are not currently within our service territory.

Displayed prices are preliminary base prices based upon the stated water surface area. Final pricing depends upon the selected equipment package, pool depth, beaches, seating, water features, property access, excavation conditions, engineering, permits, decking, landscaping, and regional project logistics.

What a sand sculpted pool is, and isn't.
It is the most beautiful water we build. It is also the one type that has to be designed, not ordered.
- It is a real swimming pool
- Filtered, circulated and sanitized like any pool. It is not a pond filtered by plants and gravel, and there are no fish in it.
- Every one is custom
- The twelve album shapes are starting points, not fixed models. The final shape, depths and beach are drawn for your property before we price it.
- The finish is natural stone
- Mineral finish pools have texture and tonal variation. Up close it looks like stone, not a uniform painted surface.
- Licensed installation only
- The method is patented and can only be built by trained, licensed installers, with documented site, install and warranty records.

- A Bio.design pool is a swimming pool sculpted directly in the ground rather than poured as a concrete shell or dropped in as a molded shell. The basin is modeled by hand in the excavation, sealed with a reinforced structural lining, then finished with natural quartz and polished pebble coatings. - Is a Bio.design pool the same as a natural swimming pond?
- No. It looks natural, but it is a swimming pool with normal circulation and filtration, treated with mineral or salt water systems. It is not a plant-filtered pond.
- How much does a Sand Sculpted Pool cost?
- Every project is site-specific. Grade, soil, access and the amount of sculpted shoreline affect the number more than square footage does. The design tool on this page gives you a starting range by shape and size, and a consultation produces a real figure for your property.
- How long does construction take?
- Active construction is typically about three to six weeks. A complete project usually runs about 12 to 20 weeks including design, engineering, permits, material coordination and scheduling. Municipal approval times and difficult site conditions can extend that.
- Can Bio.design pools be installed in Pennsylvania and cold climates?
- Yes. Blue Lagoon Pools is based in Pennsylvania and builds these pools here, so they are designed and closed for freeze and thaw cycles the same way our other inground pools are.
- Can a Sand Sculpted Pool include a beach entry?
- Yes. A gently sloping, zero entry walk-in shallow is one of the defining features of the system, and it is the part most families end up using most.
- Can seating, hydrotherapy, or an integrated spa be included?
- Yes. Hydro seats, air geysers, submerged loungers, benches and a defined swim lane can all be sculpted into the same basin rather than added as separate structures.
- How is a Bio.design pool different from concrete or fiberglass?
- A gunite pool is a poured and engineered concrete shell, and a fiberglass pool is a finished shell set in place. A sand sculpted pool is modeled in the ground instead, which allows free-form contours and a true beach entry, and generally requires less excavation, backfill and masonry than a gunite build, so there is less landscape to repair afterward.
